چکیده
Description of the subject. Prunella vulgaris L. (Lamiaceae) is an edible herb used in Europe and Asia as herbal tea, food, dietary supplement or medicinal plant since several centuries. Although composition properties aerial parts are well documented literature, seeds have never been investigated. Objectives. The aim this work was to characterize these assess not only their nutritional potential (protein, lipid minerals content), but also antioxidant anti-inflammatory specialized metabolites composition. Method. protein, lipids mineral content were determined. phenolic compounds isolated; elucidation structures done by means HR-MS one- two-dimensional NMR analysis. They then evaluated for biological activity, together with seed extracts. Results. Omega-3 rich oil interesting amino acids profile detected presence a high polyphenolic compounds, including two structurally new (phenylpropane derivatives) which isolated characterized. described here first time, named amolsamic A&B. showed potential, strong activity on neutrophils, MPO HRP models. Conclusions. These findings highlight real health promoting P. make them good candidate super-food food supplement.

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts
in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...
Lipids, proteins, phenolic composition, antioxidant and antibacterial activities of seeds of peanuts (Arachis hypogaea l) cultivated in Tunisia.
Fatty acid composition of peanut seed oil in four varieties cultivated in Tunisia showed that linoleic (C18:2), oleic (C18:1) and palmitic (C16) acids account for more than 84% for Chounfakhi and Massriya and for more than 85% of the total fatty acids of Trabilsia and Sinya seed oil respectively. Seed oil contents were significantly different (P ≤ 0.05) and did not exceed 48%. The study of tota...
متن کاملPhenolic Compounds and Antioxidant Activity of Rice
The aim of this work was to study the phenolic compounds identified in rice, their antioxidant activity and their potential beneficial effects on health. In vitro and in vivo studies evaluating the rice grains with different pericarp colour (light brown, red and black) showed potential beneficial effects on health related to the polyphenol content of the grain, such as reduction of oxidative st...
متن کاملAntioxidant activity relationship of phenolic compounds in Hypericum perforatum L.
BACKGROUND The St John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum; Clusiaceae) has been used in traditional and modern medicine for a long time due to its high content of biologically active phenolics. The purpose of this work was to develop a method for their fractionation and identification, and to determine the most active antioxidant compounds in plant extract. RESULTS An LC-MS method which enables fas...
